"Responsible" thinking

Its strange. I went to a party on saturday down by Battersea Bridge. It was held on a boat, well four boats actually, houseboats to be precise. One of the boats had a gazebo affair on the top deck which was their version of mainstage and during the evening four bands played without, fortunately incurring the wrath of local residents and the subsequent arrival of police to break up the festivities (as has happened in the past). Apparently the noise factor demonstrates just how well sound travels over water as the compaints gernerally come from the flats on the opposite side of the Thames... Not sure what the db level was, but you could still carry on a conversation. Anyway, I digress. So , you have band one one boat, partygoers on decks of boats 2,3 & 4. I stand on boat 2, enjoying the music and musing that the venue provided a natural "pit" facility between the boats which did not need to be stewarded as any attempt to get in meant a 20' downwards journey into the mud (soft landing though). Whilst it would have given Doggit a night off, there were a lack of signs warning of aforementioned drop. I was tempted to ask about risk assessments but thought it was taking things a bit far!
I had a very pleasant time, drank wine and port, made sure the ladies got home safely afterwards and slept like a log.
