Fear & Trepidation
Don't get the wrong idea, I love my wife but the proposed combination did cause me some degree of concern. Although I never got round to blogging it, the last time I had posession of the Porsche for the weekend, it died on me resulting in not just an 8 hour wait for the AA to finally relay me home (which reminds me, they never sent the apology cheque), but a new engine. It has a bit of a chequered history: 1 prang, 1 new engine, the handbreak switch failed so the roof couldn't be raised on another weeked resulting in the Chief Exec getting increasingly annoyed over each successive "problem".
Having won the car this weekend, I was just slightly paranoid in case anything else went wrong. My beloved was also very keen to get behind the wheel as she is now covered on the company insurance... Lady driver + Porsche + nervous husband = potential conflict.
It was with some concern - not over her capabilities, but just my future should anything happen whilst she was driving that we went out for a drive.
Suffice to say, she did very well (patronising, moi?) and found it a really fun experience - BIG GRIN! I managed to relax (a bit) and would go so far to say that I would allow her to drive me again. I did draw the line at her going out without me though!
