Stress Relief

What a wonder a change of air and general surroundings make. The Ops meeting last Saturday was great fun - not only to see what "interesting times" we will have making this year's site work, but also just seeing a unique group of people whom I love dearly. I came back feeling much more positive in myself, so thanks to all of you.

I had previously discovered the cathartic benefits of demolishing brickwork with a sledgehammer, but this is limited to having a suitable wall to attack. You will appreciate that having spent the last 6 months rebuilding, I am loathe to pursue this avenue further. I have however, found a new outlet. It is called mowing the allotment. We have allotments immediately behind our house and have been fortunate enough to secure the one at the end of our garden. As it has been "fallow" for the last few years, fresh tilled brown soil is not in evidence. We have decided to dig as we need and just try to keep the rest looking reasonable, hence the mowing. Spending Sunday afternoon out in the fresh air encouraging our electric flymo to cope with 6"+ long grass was just what the doctor ordered.

I am still alive!

I have just got my pc back from the menders and it seems to be working. I now have web access again for the first time in a few weeks. Doesn't explain the whole span since my last blog, but there you go. Life goes on, as does unemployment. Some light at the end of the tunnel in respect of potential employment, but still in the tunnel. Bit if a bummer really. Unfortunately succumbed to a spot of apathy and couldn't be botheredness, but think that is passing - I'm writing this, so hopefully that is a good sign. At least I have had time to work on the house, if not much money to pay for it! The most scarey thing is how quickly the time goes - before you know it, another month has passed with not much to show for it. Actually built the steps up to the back door - one project completed, several to go. Am seeing a load of friends this Saturday and looking forward to it - diversionary tactics maybe, but also for a general really looking forward to seeinng them sort of thing.
